NeuroDevelopment Contributing Factors

When ADD/ADHD is examined from a neurodevelopment point of view, it appears that there are several contributing factors. From our experience any combination of the following may be involved:

1. A brain processing issue located in frontal lobes and/or the interaction between frontal lobes and the central motor strip.

2. Electrical frequencies in the brain produce an excess of theta activity that has been found to produce daydreaming (inattention) and drowsiness and a low beta activity which will show lack of focus, and concentration (easily distractible).

3. Neural pathways that deliver sensory receptive & expressive information to and from brain may be inhibited (ADD) or over stimulated (ADHD).

4. Underdevelopment in auditory or visual processing areas related to short term memory and it's interaction with intermediate (working) memory and the arousal system.
