Basic Skills Preparation
Solutions for Long-term Academic and Learning Success

At Crossroads we have found that many of our children who come to us, have missed key learning concepts. This may be due to illness, delayed brain development, or simply because they were taught with an incompatible learning style.

To help your child overcome the challenges of learning, our program begins by addressing the primary need to develop basic learning skills, focuses on academic short falls, while developing individual learning paths. All of the Academic Programs at Crossroads are individually tailored for each student and includes the following components:

  • Focus on learning style and missed learning concepts
  • Flexible course format to meet busy scheduling needs
  • Targeted coursework for academic catch-up
  • Cooperative learning environment
  • Intensive, small-group instruction
  • Practice tests with individualized score reports
  • Combined hands on work and computer based instruction done in the lab and at home

The academic portion of each program begins with our unique CROSSROADS Academic Assessment. Through a series of norm-based diagnostic tests, we are able to determine which skills your child has mastered at his/her grade level and which skills need to be further developed. This assessment allows us to tailor our curriculum to best meet your child's needs and helps provide you with greater insight into your child's overall confidence and motivation level.

At the Crossroads, we combine both individualized hands on Tutoring with Computer based course material done in our learning lab or at home. This added practice time is designed to give your child the confidence and resources that he/she needs to excel as a life long learner. These programs are designed to help increase your child's ability, self-confidence, and their personal achievement at every turn.

Although the programs are rigorous and rewarding, each will help increase your child's ability, self-confidence, and their personal achievement at every turn. Thus, providing parents with cost-effective programs that present their children with the opportunity to dramatically improve their academic test scores, qualify for scholarships, and attend college.
